The old Upper Mills gates in Slaithwaite, just outside Huddersfield, will be creaking open again to the public for just the second time in over 100 years to showcase world-class skills and products from near and far. There'll be the chance to meet the makers, browse and shop.
Residents of the mill, Olicana Textiles, who make beautiful fabric for Liberty of London, will be selling directly and sharing their space with talented friends. Hand-crafted soft furnishing items will be available to buy on the day. Schofield & Smith suppliers of fabric to Savile Row will be opening their floor for the first time ever to the public.
You’ll be able to see where McNair’s tailored performance shirts are made, try them on and get measured up. McNair (as featured in ONE17 Notes Magazine - Issue 5) will be sharing their space with Khunu, who make beautiful yak wool knitwear, Trakke handmade bags from Scotland, Tog Knives made in the samurai tradition, The Guild bespoke jewellery, Hirsch Tailoring and our architect designed Christmas decorations and homewares from the DYEHOUSE collection.
Seven Feet footwear and Hiut Denim will have some of their collection available to try on.
On the top floor Sgt. Smith have a great range of clothing and gifts as well as their print workshops. There’ll be unusual gifts too from Heartfelt Dogs, The Millinery Studio, Lindley Fine Wines, Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and the Secret Shed Company.
And to keep your energy up there will be delicious treats from The Handmade Bakery, Lock 22, craft beers from Empire Brewery, wood-fired pizza from Delivita and locally roasted coffee from Dark Woods Coffee (as featured in ONE17 Notes Magazine - Issue 7).
