Yorkshire Sculpture Park - The Giant CATERPILLAR
July 07, 2017
A 9.5m long solid oak bench, named CATERPILLAR will be installed on Dam Head Bridge at Yorkshire Sculpture Park in the coming weeks.
CATERPILLAR derives from FALL, a 2.7m long solid oak bench currently exhibited at YSP in the main visitor centre. The FALL bench was originally designed as a residential piece for a private garden, however due to its size, weight and robustness seemed perfectly fitting for a public gallery space.
Nina Rogers, Marketing & PR Manager at Yorkshire Sculpture Park said
“The very nature of what Dyehouse produces fits with the Sculpture Park in its scale and sculptural nature. Their furniture is entirely appropriate for our spaces. The bench has been a big hit with the visitors, many of whom have commented on its beauty and craftsmanship."
Dyehouse designer, Mark Lee is delighted and privileged to be exhibiting again amongst the amazing art and sculpture at the park. The new installation coincides with YSP 40th Anniversary year.
